Children's Play Sand
Create a clean, safe environment for your children's play area. This non-toxic, non-staining sand is ideal for play areas in schools or gardens at home. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
This fine play sand has a particle size of between 1mm and 63 microns with the majority falling in the 355 to 125 micron range. The grain shape is sub-rounded to avoid abrasion. This is very important should the sand particle get into to the eye as it can be easily washed out. This small particle size also plays an important part in the moulding characteristics of the sand, enhancing its qualities as a play material.
The sand is very low staining. Stains on skin and clothing are caused by ferrous oxide in the sand grains. The amount of staining is measured on a scale of 1 (prominent) to 5 (non-visible). This play sand is classified as 5 on all materials except nylon and polyester which falls into the 4 to 5 range.
